Do you enjoy welcoming others with a warm smile? We’re looking for
volunteers to serve as Sunday morning greeters! Greeters help make
our church a friendly and inviting place by welcoming everyone who
walks through the doors. Please sign up on the bulletin board near the

Board of Outreach is hosting a Christmas shoebox packing event on Sunday,
November 1st, 11:30am. Bring the items you have purchased and help
fill boxes. This will be a good way to distribute items purchased in bulk,
and it will also allow Outreach board members time to purchase any
needed items. Boxes need to be delivered the week of November 16-
23. The item list with age categories is posted in the narthex. If you
prefer, pack a box(es) & bring to the event (boxes will be available in
October). Monetary donations can be made using an envelope marked
"Outreach shoebox drive". See signup sheets on bulletin board by
mailboxes. Pizza will be provided.

YOUTH CONFIRMATION CLASSES will be held Wednesday
afternoons, 4:15 pm for group 2 and 5:15 pm for group 1. First day of
class will be September 16. Parents interested in having their son or
daughter begin confirmation classes are asked to contact Pr. Coop.
ADULT CATECHESIS: Any adult who is interested in catechesis
leading to confirmation and membership in the congregation, is asked to
contact Pr. Coop.
PASTORS AND LAY LEADERS: Does your parish struggle to meet the
budget? Does the thought of hearing (or preaching) a sermon on
financially supporting the church make you cringe? How do we encourage
generous living without becoming legalists? On Sept. 22, Zion Lutheran
Church, 220 N 8th St, Brainerd will host the Stewardship Workshop with
LCMS Stewardship Presenter, Pastor Matthew Moss. Bring your Bible,
your questions, and your love for your church. Pastors arrive at
3pm. Lay Leaders arrive at 5:30pm for dinner. We should be out the door
no later than 8:30pm.
